Gravity Zones

One of the largest problems confronting a portable high resolution scale such as a Gemscale is the changing force of Gravity over the earth.  For example, here are some values for Gravity in northern Europe alone. 

In Japan, the country has been divided into official Gravity Zones, within which the force will be relatively constant.

The variation between these Northern European locations of 0.21% would affect the reading of a 50.000 carat mass by 0.105 carats.  Our Gemscales have used the method of Initial or Turn-On calibrations to align the readings with an absolute or known mass (the 10g or 100g Calibration Weight).
